The Michael J. Berkeley Foundation

The Michael J. Berkeley Foundation is a charitable organization established in 2001 to memorialize the life of Michael J. Berkeley who tragically perished on September 11, 2001 in the World Trade Center attacks. The mission of the Foundation is to assist deserving minority youth in realizing their highest potential in the sport of golf through education, business ventures, or a professional golf career.

The web site is designed with two purposes in mind: memorializing Michael J. Berkeley and providing useful information about the foundation set up in his name. Focusing on his spirit and love of golf, both purposes are pulled together through use of soft, light colors and images of the sport he loved. Combined with a clear navigation menu which persists through all pages, this site is easy to use and informative - allowing users to learn about Michael's life, dynamically add their memories of him to the pages of remembrances, access scholarship information, donate to the foundation, and buy tickets to fund-raising events.

Using Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) for layout and content formatting, this site is robust and allows for easy updates and style changes. Use of CSS also increases load speed and makes for smaller files.
