The Reiki Project

The Reiki Project is an interactive CD-ROM exploring Reiki - a hands-on technique that acts as a catalyst for balance and stress reduction. This educational tool covers the basics as well as the practice's history, 4 symbols, 3 degrees and a variety of advanced techniques used by Reiki practitioners throughout the world.

what is reiki?
Reiki has been used for ages to create a state of equilibrium between the spiritual, emotional, and physical body - as imbalance is said to cause disease, pain, and emotional blocks. This non-invasive practice harnesses and intensifies energy from the universe (the energy used to maintain life) and channels it in order to promote balance and well-being. It is safe to use in any situation because it is a creative (rather than destructive) force and flows into the areas where it is most needed.

the project
Initially developed as part of my master's thesis at NYU's Interactive Telecommunications Program, the Reiki Project is now available for purchase at http://www.reikiproject.com as a complete, duel platform, CD-ROM. The CD functions as a reference for those students who have already taken Reiki seminars and have begun to practice on themselves and/or others. It serves as a valuable resource for the Reiki practitioner long after s/he has received each Reiki Degree by providing additional information that may not have been covered in depth in each and every class (as each Reiki Master naturally approaches the material in a unique way). The project exposes layers of information (including historical basis, general philosophy, and alternative techniques) as well as the ways in which those different layers connect and influence each other - and in this way help each student draw a more complete picture of Reiki.
