The web site is designed with two purposes in mind: memorializing Michael J. Berkeley and supporting the foundation set up in his name. Focusing on his spirit and love of golf, the design makes use of soft, light colors and images of the sport he loved. Combined with clear primary and secondary navigation, this site is easy to use and informative - allowing visitors to learn about Michael's life, dynamically add their memories of him to the pages of remembrances, access scholarship information, donate to the foundation, and buy tickets to fund-raising events.
Key elements of the site include: credit card processing for donations and event registration, a contact management system to handle board minutes (accessable only to board members), a newsletter engine/archive, and use of CSS for both layout and content formatting.
